Nashmita Rajiah

Nashmita Rajiah is a London based interior architect and designer whose work explores the relationship between architecture, materiality, and the human experience. With a background in interior architecture and six formative years living and studying in Melbourne, Nashmita brings an internationally informed perspective shaped by diverse architectural contexts, material cultures, and design disciplines. This global outlook is paired with a rigorous technical foundation in spatial planning, construction detailing, and build coordination, allowing creative vision and architectural feasibility to develop in parallel.

The studio is recognised for delivering holistic residential environments, spanning spatial reconfiguration, bespoke joinery, custom furniture, lighting, material sourcing, and curated art integration. Central to the practice are long-standing relationships with skilled artisans, specialist suppliers, and fabricators, enabling designs to be realised with precision, integrity, and exceptional material quality. 

Working closely with architects, contractors, and craftspeople, the studio ensures that each concept is translated into a resolved architectural interior where spatial clarity and emotional atmosphere are given equal consideration.

We believe exceptional interiors are shaped through exploration rather than imitation. Our process begins with a rigorous understanding of proportion, spatial flow, and how a home is truly lived in. Instead of following trends or repeating formulas, we examine the architecture, context, and daily rituals that define each project.

Structure &
Expression

Our work is grounded in architectural clarity. Strong spatial composition and calm, structured backdrops provide a sense of balance and composure. Within this framework, we introduce expressive layers that bring depth, richness, and individuality. Sculptural forms, considered colour, and refined detailing create moments of character and surprise. This interplay between restraint and richness allows each interior to feel composed yet emotionally resonant, disciplined yet distinctive.

Material
Integrity

Materiality is central to our philosophy. We work with natural materials, bespoke craftsmanship, and tactile finishes to create spaces that engage the senses. Every surface, junction, and detail is carefully considered, ensuring that beauty is supported by integrity and longevity.

Colour and pattern are introduced with intention, enhancing the atmosphere without overwhelming it. Craft is not applied decoration, but an essential part of how each interior is constructed and experienced.

Each project is approached as a unique composition shaped by the client’s life, culture, and surroundings. We do not impose a signature style. Instead, we draw out a distinct narrative that reflects lived experience and personal meaning.
